An Eastern tiger swallowtail butterfly (Papilio glaucus) feeding on the nectar of a Tiger lily flower (Lilium lancifolium), characterized by showy, nodding orange-and-black flowers with gracefully recurved petals that curve backward. Native to East Asia, the tiger lily is widely grown in North America as an ornamental garden plant, that typically bloom in late summer to early fall.
The Eastern Tiger Swallowtail (Papilio glaucus), also known as a Turk's-cap lily is attracted to the wide, bright colors of the lily, often collecting pollen on its wings while feeding.
