Winter scene with Black-throated bush tits (Aegithalos concinnus), a very small passerine birds, native to South and East Asia, that are perched near two persimmons (Diospyros kaki, the most widely cultivated species in China and Japan).
They are active foragers, and often are seen in groups, moving acrobatically among small branches to find insects and seeds.
The large, orange, tomato-shaped fruits of persimmons mature in the late fall and can remain on the tree well into winter, serving as an important food source for birds and other wildlife when other food is scarce.
