The Kwanzan Cherry Tree (Prunus serrulata) is a stunning late blooming ornamental cherry tree with many hanging deep pink clusters of double-blossoms.
The Kwanzan cherry trees are eye-catching year-round, with leaves that emerge a rich red-copper hue before coming green and at the end of autumn they take a brilliant orange shade, in yellow, red or crimson.
Prunus serrulata trees, or Japanese Cherry, also called Hill Cherry or Oriental Cherry, have a reputation for being some of the showiest cherries welcoming spring, during the National Cherry Blossom Festival, in Washington, DC.
