A magnificent hand-painted golden bauble, used as decorations on Christmas trees. The Christmas baubles are small brittle hollow glass spheres, coated with a thin reflective metallic layer, topped with a cap, hook and tinsel or ribbon. Since the late 19th century were a specialty of the glass factories in the Thuringian Forest, especially in Lauscha, Germany. Tsar Peter I was the one who introduced the Russian custom to decorate a Christmas trees.
