A closeup look at the beautiful glasswing butterfly (Greta Oto), so named for its unusual almost completely transparent wings, spanning up to six centimeters. Greta oto is in fact the scientific name for one of the most exquisite and little known species of butterflies. These enchanting small insects live in rainforest of Central America, from Mexico to Panama. The Spanish name for the glasswing is ‘espejitos’, which means little mirrors.
