Описание:

The Church of the Transfiguration is the most remarkable part of the Kizhi Pogost, a historical site from the 17th century, located on the Kizhi island in the Lake Onega, the Republic of Karelia, Russia. Kizhi Pogost includes two large wooden churches, Transfiguration Church with 22 domes, which is one of the tallest wooden buildings of the Russian North with height of 37 meters, Intercession Church with 9 domes and a bell tower. The pogost is built exclusively of wood, with logs of Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris) about 30 cm in diameter and 3 to 5 meters long, without using a single nail.
