Beautiful bright yellow crocuses emerging from the snow, known as the Dutch yellow crocus, or snow crocus, classified as Crocus flavus.
They are hardy, bulbous perennials, among the earliest spring flowers from February to March, to emerge, often pushing through snow.
Crocuses are known for opening their petals in full sun and closing them on cloudy days, at night or in rainy weather.
Thet are native to southeastern Europe and western Asia, growing wild in glades, light forests, and mountain slopes and are popular ornamental plants in gardens which spread over time.
