Descripción Trifon Zarezan, or Day of Vine-grower, is a Bulgarian folk feast in honor of Saint Tryphon, which is celebrated by vine-growers, winemakers, gardeners and pub owners on February 14. The vine's festival is a custom from the annual cycle of cultivation of the vine, associated with the first day of its spring pruning. According to the custom, a girl in a Bulgarian costume and a wreath woven from vine twigs symbolically sprinkles the places after pruning the vine with red wine, blessing 'as the wine flows, so the grapes grow'. |
