The Wave in Snow Description: 

'The Wave' is a famous sandstone rock formation located in area of the Paria Canyon-Vermilion Cliffs Wilderness, in northern Arizona, near the border with Utah.
This geological feature is known for its undulating, wave-like sandstone streaks, in shades of red, orange, and pink, that create a sense of motion. Its unique look is created by the erosion of large-scale eolian (wind-deposited) cross-bedding.

While it is a desert landscape, in the area occasionally experiences snow during winter months, creating a striking contrast with the red rock.
'The Wave' is a renowned destination for hikers and photographers, known for its unique shapes and colors.

Due to its fragile nature and popularity, the access to this area is strictly regulated, requiring a permit obtained through a competitive lottery system.
