The Christmas tree and the triumphant herald angels that are the centerpiece of the annual Christmas display in the Channel Gardens of Rockefeller Center is a world-wide symbol of the holidays in New York City.
The 12 wire angel figures, each holding a 6-foot-long trumpet, that heralds the holiday season, were created by the American artist of British birth Valerie Clarebout in 1955.
