Baba Marta is one of the most revered Bulgarian customs, preserved to this day. This is a millennial Bulgarian tradition that symbolizes the end of winter and the coming of spring.
On March 1st, everyone presents their loved ones with a special amulet made of two twisted threads red and white, called martenitsa, for health, luck and strength next year.
