The King Penguins live on sub-Antarctic islands free from frozen ice, such as on the Antarctic ice barrier, Tierra del Fuego, the Falkland Islands and on eight islands in the Southern hemisphere.
The King penguins are about 85–95 cm tall and weigh 14–17 kg. They have black feathers on their back, white feathers on their chest and underside, orange spots near their ears and on the neck.
